International Chess Festival “Moscow Open 2010”

Total guaranteed prize fund of the Festival is 5 million rubles.

ATTENTION: smoking is not allowed at the territory of RSSU!

Format:

“Moscow Open 2010”  consists of 6 separate tournaments: “Open A”, “Open B”,  women “Open C”,

Open D - Tournament of the veterans born in 1945 “Contemporary of the Victory”, devoted to the Victory in The Great Patriotic War.

Open E - Children tournament in the nomination:

school chess champions tournament , school chess teams tournament , children municipal chess clubs,

Open F - Second World Cup on chess compositions solving“ - Open F”.


Arbiters’ seminar under FIDE patronage and Scientific-Practical conference “Chess as INNOVATION SUBJECT in the system of education” are held at the same time.

All tournaments are held according to the Swiss system and FIDE rules.
Opens A, B, C ,D – 9 rounds; Opens E – 8 ROUNDS, F – 4 rounds.

Open A” is open to all chess players with the rating ABOVE 2650. Prize fund is 2 500 000 rubles. First prize is 500 000 rubles (27 prizes in total).
“Open B” is open to chess players with FIDE rating with the rating 2299 and less and without FIDE rating. Prize fund is 500 000 rubles. The main prize is 64 000 rubles (21 prizes in total).
“Open C” is open to all women with no regard to rating or age.
Prize fund is 500 000 rubles. First prize is 150 000 (21 prize in total).

Open D is open to players born in 1945 with rating 2000 and more. Prize fund is 500 000 rubles. First price is 65 000 rubles (23 prizes in total).


“Open E” (total price fund is 700 000 rubles):

First nomination is selection to the European Championship among pupils, Greece, Kallithea, April 4-12, 2010) is open to school champions. Age groups (separately for boys and girls): under 9 years, under 11, under 13 , under 15, under 17 .  Winners in age groups (10 persons) are provided with free accommodation and meals in Greece according to the Regulations of the School Championship.


Second nomination is selection to the Intercontinental Championship Open (USA, Chicago, March 26 -31, 20100). Team composition is 3 boys, 1 girl – all under 12, and coach-teacher.

Third nomination is selection to European children municipal chess clubs (Bulgaria, Varna, June11-18, 2010). Team composition is 4 children under 14 from one municipality.

All winners in nominations will be provided with free accommodation and meals during mentioned events.



Open F” – World Cup on chess compositions solving is open to chess compositions solvers.
Prize fund is 150 000 rubles. This tournament is held in 2 days in 4 rounds, 2 rounds per day, including solving tournament.


Start of the rounds in Opens A, B, C, D is at 4 p.m., start of the children Opens is at 10 a.m.

Time control is 105 minutes to the end of the game to each of the player with extra 30 seconds per move starting from the first one in all tournaments.

Conditions of the participation:
Expenses of the participants of the tournament (travel expenses, meals, accommodation, tournament fee) are covered by participants or delegating part.   
20 Grandmasters with current FIDE rating 2650 and higher (Open A), 10 grandmasters with current FIDE rating 2475 and higher (Open C) are provided with accommodation and meals starting from January 29 (evening) up to February 8 (morning). Four leading grandmasters on chess composition (Open F) are provided with accommodation and meals starting from February 5 (evening) up to February 8 (morning). Starting fees are published on the tournament web-site.
